The typology of geek was first laid out in Prof. A. Sandler's classic sketch, "Geek, Dweeb, or Spazz?" (SNL, 1991ish). The geek/dweeb boundary was always less clear to me than how one distinguishes "spazz"; I also don't know if "nerd" is the genus into which this all falls, or if it's some separate species.
It was my understanding as well that those who bite the heads off live chickens could claim to be a "geek".
For those who wish to pursue the title in this manner, I wish them all the best.
