Golem 2 is looking pretty good-- I really think it's coming together. And a good thing too since we only have four days left before the NQE.
NQE stands for National Qualifying Event. DARPA loves acronyms (or initialisms if you prefer). I had to write a fifteen-page paper about the robot-- they called that the DGCTP or DARPA Grand Challenge Technical Paper. Why not the DARPAGCTP? Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency Grand Challenge Technical Paper.

Are those extra-long LADAR cables supposed to double as moorings in case G2 goes crazy? Otherwise it is looking good!
As for the paper, DARPA should have gone with the self-referential pine-style acronym and called it the DARPA (DARPA annotated research paper assignment).
